the IAT sensor tells the computer how warm the intake air is....in effect "the choke"...time was when we had a "stove kit" a crenelated robot arm coming from the top of the exhaust manifold, a "diverter" at the base of the snorkel...a "heat riser" and torsional spring activated "butterfly" and a "Kick-down" setting engaged for cold conditions....all this SHIT has been rather elegantly replaced with a single goodie...the Intake Air Temperature sensor...which calls the shots...and it's cheap~ https://www.google.com/search? biw=1152&bih=624&tbm=shop&sclient=psy- ab&q=dodge+ram+1500+2001+Intake+Air+Temperature+sensor&oq=do dge+ram+1500+2001+Intake+Air+Temperature+sensor&gs_l=serp.12...1 3172.17746.0.20924.3.2.1.0.0.0.153.262.0j2.2.0.crnk_timecombined...0... 1.1.32.psy-ab..3.0.0.dywlzrJfxhg&pbx=1

Proper system ground is frequently overlooked as it's condition degrades every time the starter is used...there is in fact a "Blue Spark" that happens when dis-similar materials exchange high amperages...creates a layer of Semi-conductor that the delicate needs of the ECU to have steady voltage and unwavering Amperage available...Use a coarse wirebrush on the lug on the end of the Black battery cable...it's connection to the chassis ground as I stated gets CORRODED because of the high amps....here and the 1/0 battery cable to the block too (near the alternator)~
