Do my differentials have to be the exact same when regearing?

Question type: General

I wanna gear my dodge ram 1500 to run 40s and
wanted to know if I had to have the same gearing
in both diffs? Or if one is lower then the other?

You have to have the same gear ratio in the front as in the rear for a 4-wheel drive.
