1998 dodge ram 1500 5.9 l 4x4 won shift into 3rd 4th or 5th and reverse slips

i have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 5.9l 4x4. i just put
brand new front drum with steels and clutches, and
brand new rear drum with steels and clutches. it will
shift in first and second but will not shift in third,
fourth or firfth, also having problems with reverse
slips really bad. what could be wrong?? please
help.   PS: already changed filter and fluid

The last mopar trannys I rebuilt were 727s n 904s, but the operating principles are only 1 generation out.Dijya check the fluid level in neutral or in park? Do it in neutral. Second, dijya clean the valve body when you had the tranny torn down? Third, There are several good articles on band adjustment online concerning the trannys particular to these beasts. Apparently factory band settings are no bueno, and cause shifting problems. Last, dijya replace the shift solenoid/gov sensor pack?
