My truck sounds like it's running on 6 cylinders it's got 8 ? Where do I start ?

Have you done a tune up on it plugs wires distributor cap rotor button

Don't change anything until you scan the vehicle for DTC's.. trouble codes stored on the vehicle computer. The engine missing should cause the check engine light to illuminate or flash.
