1994 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 won't start.

Asked by Joshua Feb 17, 2017 at 09:53 PM about the 1994 Dodge RAM 1500 LT LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm getting fire and fuel to the fuel rails but won't
start. Was running fine and died, every so often will
crank up and run good for about 10- 15 seconds. I
replaced distributor cap, rotory button, and coil
wire.   Any ideas, ignition coil?

I'm thinking you need to check the fuel pressure. May have a bad fuel pump, fuel regulator, or leaking injectors.

I checked fuel pressure, none. I played around with the relays and still nothing so I ordered a fuel pump. Is it easier to take the bed off or drop the tank on Dodge trucks? Thanks for the help.

Either or on that one, some have the set-up to remove the bed and it is a lot easier than dropping the fuel tank. That one is your call. You should have 6 people to lift the box off, or a overhead hoist.

I found it to be quite easy just dropping the tank, and way less bolts than the bed.
