Am I buying the right part for my 06 ford escape hybrid?

Asked by Crystal Jan 24, 2023 at 07:33 AM about the 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought a used 2006 hybrid Ford escape,
and have been having trouble buying parts little by
little of the last two weeks because this vehicle is
completely rusted. I just had to start with replacing
the entire frame, then the lower control arms, then
the axles and now I have to replace the driveshaft
completly because the vehicle is a hybrid. Does
anyone know exactly what part I should be looking
for for my specific vehicle.. does it matter if it’s a
manual or automatic drive shaft. I’m having a hard
time finding what will fit the hybrid version. Thanks

Sounds like you have thrown way too much money at this vehicle. Anyway the old driveline should have a engineering number on a small tag on the driveline itself, with that number you should be able to crossreferance to get the right drivelines.

Those old Escapes are rust buckets for sure. I would have stopped at replacing parts of the subframe. But try posting this question on the escape forum, escape city.
