What is your opinion on durability of the Tritons 5.4 gas engine?

I have two 2V engines with nearly 400,000 combined miles and they have been flawless. A few things like coils have needed replacement, one DPFE sensor and one alternator. The 3V engine like yours have the cam phaser issue and the 2 piece spark plugs but there are fixes for both those problems.

Great engine if maintained properly. The 3 valve engine had more issues than the 2 valve.

2002 F150 with Triton 5.4 liter 2 valve gas engine has 245,000 + miles. Regular oil changes and several coil packs changed and engine still quiet, runs good, transmission had to be rebuilt at 193,000, but can't beat this truck. Only thing a new one would be any better is gas mileage, looks and features! Never thought it would last this long.
