I have a 2005 F150 5.4 FX4. Are the exhausts from any newer models compatible?

Compatible meaning aftermarket, EPA specs?? Dunno? the catalytic converter is the important part of the exhaust. It aids in burning off spent fuel that has escaped the engine. This is an answer best done by the exhaust company you are purchasing from. If they dont have "cats" inline then they are prob not emissions approved and you could have your old cats cut and installed inline with these new exhaust systems but.....there goes any warranty on the newly purchased exhaust. If no cat....no pass emissions test....no renew registration....call cab for ride....etc.

If you have an 05 truck and want to put an exhaust from an 09??? provided the engine size was similar I'd say they should probably work just fine... emissions test will tell you weather they will be ok or not.

Thanks for that. I am actually looking to replace with one from a newer model from a scrap yard. I have spent a fortune on my truck for other issues and am looking to reduce further spending. I have been let down and am fed up with poor service from garages that I am taking a more controlling role in future maintenance etc.

If your exhaust system is not giving any problems I suggest leaving it alone. Does Dubai have any exhaust gas tests? If you try to bypass oxygen sensors and cat converters you'll give the PCM fits.
