I have a 2005 f150, can I swap the motor a transmission out of an identical 2009? Both have 5.4 literally and 4x4. The newer motor only has 37k. But will it run right? Any help would be appreciated

To really do it right you would need to swap the entire electrical system, computer dash/gauges fuse blocks... which leads to everything else in the cab...(even your turn signals in your side mirrors are wired slightly different) .... and exhaust and fuel system etc. Forever changing government regulations etc and dealers wanting to sell new trucks are to blame.

Ford uses the same engine and tranny group from one vehicle to another rarely youll see subtle changes in some For example ive seen Mustang setups go in some off roaders trucks and the bracketry for alt or power steering or mayby the AC compressor. They will change the simple things to accomodate power plants in tight spaces. Usually unless its a limited or special edition the block or heads sill already be tapped for the bracketry. It is getting increasingly more difficult to make modifications on these mewer vehicles. We just had to accept oh tje AC dont work ok roll tje windows down and keep flaggin

Yeah we changed the wireing harness on on an f150 same year same model and come to find out there were 5 different harnesses depending on what month and location it was manufactured

I made some custom mods on my 04 f150 I cut the paddles off my front swaybar and turned them horizontal and purchased after market swarbar links for 12 bucks straight shanks and heavy duty grommies. Tighttened up the front end considerably. The OEM swaybar links were $147 each and lasted 8 months in jackson. Next I found my truck didnt have the ass I had hoped for so a half inch thick leafspring added to my stack provided 1500poimds at the hitch plus a set of tembrens which mount where the frame stops are mounted over the rear end. And lastly a new set of load levelers shocks withcoil overs. This all cost me about 1200 total but I can hook to 15 to 17 thousand pounds and pull off level flat
