Ford Triton issues

Asked by RB251 Feb 13, 2016 at 04:43 PM about the 2004 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCrew 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 04 F150 Triton.  No codes, changed plugs 2
years ago and 2 coil packs recently.  While in
overdrive at speeds under 60 usually I get a bump
bump type feeling in the truck just before the rims
change as I climb a hill or slow in a curve and
begin to accelerate.   Doesn't feel like it goes to
neutral but I get a pretty good bump.  Feels like it's
in the tranny area, but have been told it was plugs
already.  Again , no check engine light or codes.
Thanks

You likely should have replaced all the coil packs when you replaced just the 2. New coil packs may or may not fix it.

Common problem - I had the same on my 2004 - try replacing the VVT Solenoids - about $50ea on Amazon

Wouldn't hurt to order the seals at the same time - the old ones come out pretty rough - it'll run like new
