Dome lights not staying on

I have a 2002 Chevy impala that has a dome light
issue. When you open the door or turn the headlight
switch to dome light position the dome lights come
on for about 1 second then go out. Then you wait a
few seconds and try it again, it will do the same
thing. But if you just turn each individual light on by
pressing the light they stay on. Does anyone have
any ideas?
