while starting my 1962 chev I heard a pop . now there is no electrical power whatsoever... no dome lights or headlightscan anyone help ?

It could also be a short somewhere, meaning that a bare wire has grounded when it shouldn't have- a car that old will have some questionable wiring- to keep your classic's electrical system operating properly you will need a wiring diagram and a test light- then put on your detective hat-
Could be a blown mega-fuse under the hood. You might also have had a loose battery cable and it sparked; maybe it damaged the battery.

Didn't have mega fuses back then. Fuselnks will be down by the starter.
