Alternator is over charging

Can anyone help me i have a 2001 f150 5.4
replaced the alternator twice and the battery and
the alternator connection's but it's still over
charging jumping from 12 to 14 volts all dash
lights and headlights are surging every time I have
it tested they say it's a bad alternator but when i
replace it and they test the old one off the truck it's
good

13.7 to 14.3 volts is a normal charge for an alternator. Have you had your battery tested? Usually you want to change the battery and alternator at the same time.

Im sorry that was a typo it was supposed to say it's jumping to 16 volts. Yes i replaced the battery also
