If you look in your owners manual, a flashing OD light means your transmission is overheating and or there are trouble codes present in the system due to a problem with the transmission. Check the transmission fluid level to see if it is full, and red. Brown or black fluid is not good. How many miles on the truck and when was the transmission last serviced? In the meantime you can scan for the trouble codes with a OBDii scanner. An auto part store will do this for free.
