roaring noise in f/end -2002 4wd

roaring noise in f/end-4wd shifts ok. 65k--have cheked both f/wheels--they turn freely
w/out any noise.

It's most likely your wheel bearings. They don't always get loose when the wear out. Most I've changed are still tight when you wiggle the wheel and don't make noise in the air but sound awful with wieght on them. I was able to tell they were bad when I had them out in my hand
