less power, puddering

1995 ford f150 xlt 100300 miles 4 speed with O/D manual, 5.0 motor. Just started a couple days ago, I use to be able to cruise at 35 mph in 5th gear, now I cant do 40 mph in 4th gear with out the truck wanting to stall out, I cleaned the disturbered cap as best I could and sprayed air filter out. I just want to know all options.
