I've tried to check the codes on my 1994 f150 4.9.
The check engine light won't blink, it just stays on

May be the computer's no good , what was the problem in the first place ?

It won't go over 50mph. Very hard to start, I need to prime it first tio Get it started

Best to let a shop pull the trouble codes. Ford OBD I systems are a pain in the butt to get codes out of! Very complicated procedure! Jim
