Truck only starts sometimes

Asked by usabiker2 Jun 26, 2018 at 09:01 PM about the 1993 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've replaced the alternator, battery and
battery posts. When tested everything is fine
and it started right up so I took it to work.
When leaving it wouldn't  start again and
nothing helped so I had it towed to the shop.
They couldn't start it either and because it
was late left it for the morning. When they
got in it started right up and has all day. This
is exactly what happened with me but I'm
afraid to drive it just to get stranded again.
What should I ask the shop to look for?

Check the connections at the starter solenoid, if its the fender mounted style you might as well replace it for the $20 you can get it for and installation is a breeze. Id imagine its the problem
