I have a 1990 ford f150 the battery is good and I'm getting basic power to the truck ( radio , lights , extra.) but when I turn the key it sound like it wants to turn over at first but instantly Sounds like the battery dying. If I jump it they it will start . Any suggestions this is my daily work vehicle and need it to make $ so please help!!!!!

...um, yeah--bust a coarse wire brush out of your toolbox and trace the black wire coming off the battery attaching to the chassis/frame on the ground location, then to the motor...this is a thick 0/1 conductor capable of carrying 300 cold cranking amps or more~ the ends need to be nice and shiny ready to take on the 300 cca's~ use a garden hose so you don't have to breathe the acid dust~

on the positive side, there's a "lolipop" that is the return from the alternator...this must be cleaned shiny fresh as well as the connection to the starter solenoid, take a look at the washers there to make sure they don't look like they've been underwater~

all this cleaning and refreshing has made me want a beer....er..um no, the startermotor should be happy to turn over for you if the ground strap to the motor is nice and meaty~....and if the positive side is sparky fresh too, turn the key and be made instantly gratified for your labor in making this happen~
