2001 F250 ignition

Asked by Jlew1993 Oct 19, 2018 at 07:09 PM about the 2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT 4WD Crew Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I turned my truck off and this clicking noise came
from the light switch area. I turned my light switch
noise stopped, then to off, started again. Also put the
key in the ignition and it stopped. When key was out
into ignition there was no chime, or anything. Dash
was dead. I could turn the ignition and it wouldn't do
anything. Verified the gear selector was fully in park.
Took battery terminal off to let it reset or whatever,
and I got it to turn on. Anyone deal with this before?
Also just recently replaced fuel pump...maybe has
something to do with it?

Sorry *when the key was PUT into the ignition, there was no chime, or response. Dash stayed dark, no gushes moved*
