Engine fix

Asked by Scott Apr 29, 2018 at 04:52 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently got gas the other day and drove around
for a while then later in the day it started to lose
power and was struggling to get up to speed. I
used a code reader and cylinder misfire came up. I
changed the spark plugs today and the problem is
still there. I was then told it seems to be the coil
pack. Car is Revving below 1000 rpms when idle. I
found a coil pack but I’m concerned for another
problem .

Idle should be around 800 rpm so the idle sounds normal to me. Your plug wires could also be the misfire cause.

I changed the spark plugs and still have the misfire coming up on the code reader .
