04 chevy avalanche z71 starting issue

Asked by gearheads101 Jun 30, 2018 at 04:44 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Well we were changing out the power steering pump on the avalanche 5.3L and you have to take the alternator off and the bracket that holds it. We did all that just fine however the positive cable that's for jump starting the vehicle some how sparked when trying to remount the bracket that it goes on. It was not open. I checked all the fuses and all the connections. The battery is charged , all the lights come on when you turn the key. It cranks over fine but it acts like it doesn't have spark or fuel in the process of checking those things. Has anyone ever have an issue like this before?
