If I do not have enough distilled water for coolant mix, can I temporarily use tap water?

I am adding coolant to my new radiator, realize I have only about 1/3 gallon of distilled
water for the 50/50 coolant/water mixture, and there's no way to get to the store. If I
complete the mixture with tap water, should I sometime soon empty the radiator and re-do
the 50/50 mixture with distilled water? Thanks for answers.

No, distilled water has no hard water properties, which both city and well water have. I would say just drive it without being filled up if its not a long distance, just wat h the temp gauge. But this depends on the distance.
