Will compression loss cause my oil and temp gauges from working?

Asked by LHHUFF May 27, 2016 at 11:23 AM about the 2001 Toyota Sequoia SR5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Sequioa was overheating due to lack of coolant. I know this because I put
on a new alternator and drained a lot of it. I noticed the gauge needle was in
the red. I was close to home so I stopped turned the truck off and waited a
few minutes and drove home. Let the car sit for a few hours but now it won't
turn over and my oil and temp gauges do not work. Wondering if something
was cracked or blown due to the heat.

tennisshoes, would the wet senders contribute to the truck not starting. If so, how can I replace or fix the senders.
