Truck won’t start without wiggling the wires next to battery

Asked by GuruW7Y93 May 30, 2018 at 07:24 AM about the 1995 Toyota Pickup 2 Dr STD Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck has an intermittent starting problem. Sometimes starts right up other
times I have to giggle the wires next to the battery. I replaced the ignition lock
($$) but that’s not the problem (what’s SB mean - 2Dr STD Standard Cab SB)

I hard the same problem. I sprayed the nut connecting the wire to the battery connector with WD-40 rust release penetrant. It worked real well for me. The nut was frozen and could not lossen it to check it. The problem was intermittent but once I sprayed the connector no problems starting. Sold at Home Depot- maybe just checking the connection is all you need.
