My 1999 Land Cruiser stalled at 45 MPH in a severe snow storm. The check engine light was on at it came up as a Crank Shaft Position Sensor Malfunction. The truck is running fine now and the check engine light is off. Do I need to replace the sensor or could it have been due to the severe weather and overheating?

You will need to replace it. They will work one day and not the next and strand you.
