Dear melmonta-- At 132,000 miles it is not unusual to need some repairs on any car, even such a tough customer like the Toyota Land Cruiser. Things do wear out over time and miles. If in doubt about your dealer's diagnosis, get a second opinion and a second price quote, but to me it sounds like these are items that one might expect at that time and mileage. Good luck from Bovan.

well the pcv valve (positive crankcase ventilation) vents the blowby gases out of the crankcase. if this valve is malfunctioning, the pressure exerted by the gases can blow your oil seals and emit lots of hydrocarbons out the tailpipe. id reccomend getting it fixed to prevent damage. but w/e you do. dont go to the dealer. HUUUGEE ripoff.

Hey bud, go to Autozone, pick up a new one. Take off the old one off of the valve cover and replace it yourself. Not hard.
