well with regards to servicing your own manual transmission, have had lousy luck as one needs a bit of special toolage and a clamp/docking station to work at. trying to sevice a manual tranny on the garage floor is kinda nutty, things slip away from you...etc. I'd seek out a used one from pickNpull-
