Cv axle removal

Asked by Michael Aug 02, 2017 at 01:25 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm trying to remove the passenger side axle but it's
not moving. Is there anything I need to remove from
the inner side before it will come out?

I think its a 2 piece axle hanger bearing bolts to engine block. Don't pull on the shaft you will open up the cv boot. or pull the axle out of place.

Get the car high enough to crawl under it and see. When you pull the axle out you will lose a bit of transmission fluid. Make sure you don't damage the axle seal when re installing it? Also top up trans.
