Radiator Cooling Fan not woking

Asked by DevinnS Jun 10, 2018 at 12:58 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My cooling fan does not kick on at all. I just replaced the fan today and
nothing. Ive tested each relay with 12 volts and even checked the resistance
of it, they all read 0.00. The fuses are good as well.The fan works with 12
volts directly to it but i dont see the problem else where. I dont know what to
do from here.

Edit: i also replaced the coolant temp sensor and still nothing. Its a 05 Ls

Look I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt 4door My question is can. By pass the transmission coolant by not hooking it up just clogging the holes where the coolant transmission coolant goes

Cooling fans will not kick on until it reaches 214-217 degrees.

If your fan includes a resistor in the fan shroud it can be bypassed with a jumper wire, that may be an issue. First things first though is checking the fuses for the fans themselves. Each relay should have two powers coming into it, a ground or engagement circuit and the output circuit (power to fan).
