The battery light didn't go off after starting the car

have the charging system vated....checked....its free.

Most likely cause is the alternator is bad but also could be a wiring problem.

The engine light was still on and that battery red line was bold. You answer did not help because I don't know what to do next but it sounds like i needed to answer that.
