1998 Toyota Camry 4cyl

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Lost total power while driving on highway...interior
lights and panel and cig lighter stayed on for a
while. Had to have flashers on so after sitting for
four hours waiting on tow guy from insurance to
come from galveston to gilchrist, tx on bolivar
peninsula. Next day tried to jump...wouldnt
start..clicking active then. Noticed tow guy put the
clamps on wrong posts and ZAP! lights out no
power at all.

Please forgive the mess around sugar britches (cars name) got hit by a twister and 50 mph winds...spent four days sitting in ac of my car...no electric on 100 degrees is not fun. Even the cat Rowdy loaded up in the front seat... One other looking at my interior fuse box I noticed the 5amp fuse for the starter is non existent. Was there when father purchased but had some jerk check fuses and he test drove till there was literally no gas in car... And after putting what gas I had and it was good gas...checked it like dad taught is girls...i went maybe an 1/8th of a mile and thats when it just died...lovely at 1 am
