Why does the radio light stay on when the vehicle is shut off?

Asked by mrg696 Jan 06, 2016 at 10:00 PM about the 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4 Dr JLX 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The radio fuse was disconnected, so it doesn't work..That's fine with me, but
the radio light still stays on when the car is shut off.  It was used when I got it
so there's no manual with it.

Sounds like it may be the memory wire to the stereo which keeps fire to stereo, meaning hold settings for clock and station settings, you may have to remove this wire to kill total fire to stereo,it will be a yellow wire.
