Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've seen what the a/c holding tool looks like but, how do U use it?
There R no threads on front of the clutch plate for bolts or threaded studs.
Can I still use this tool even though there R no threads on the clutch plate or holes?
Thanks 4 any help.

What I do is find the right thickness feeler gauge to put in-between the clutch surfaces, anywhere from .018 to .035 thick and have someone hold the clutch with channel locks over an area that can be reached from both sides & pinch down over the feeler gauge. This way you are not bending the outer clutch. The center bolt is not that tight.
