What should my tire pressure be at?

Asked by 04SubaruForesterXS Jun 01, 2020 at 07:43 PM about the 2004 Subaru Forester XS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My tires are "Arizonian Silver Edition III" and, it says for
these tires, the max psi for them is 44. My mechanic puts
them at 35, and my tire pressure placard says they should
be 28-29. I would like to get the best out of my tires so
what should I have them at? Is 44psi too much for my car?
Even 40psi?

Ignore the responder's suggestion to use the too-soft Subaru recommendation. Dealers tend to compromise at 32psi all around, but 35F/32R is best for high speed handling and tire wear.
