could my fansnot be turning making my car run hot

My fans are not turning in my 2004 subaru forester
xs. Do you know what could be causing this.

Turn on your AC this manually causes the cooling fan(s) to turn On.. IF not check all the FUSES and relays before checking the fan motors or cooling ECT sensor .(electronic cooling temperature).

Have you had it running "warm" and gone to the front of the car to see if they come on? I'm with A_C on fuses and relays. Fansnot, you know.. the fan fluid.

Hint: to check relays just interchange identical ones rather than buying them. Can't remember if '04 fans are controlled by the ECM...last resort.
