Starting dissable due to the theft system

My car will not start due to the theft system being
activated but i have the key and it turns the power
on in the car but wont start

Try taking both cables off the battery for about 10 mins n then put it back on should start

Lost key on 2005 pontiac grand prix gtp. i broke into car to see if key locked in car. bought new key since original not found.. disconnected battery for several hours and tried the 30 minute relearn but nothing happens
