Starting and misfire issue

Asked by Moshizzo152 Dec 21, 2018 at 11:29 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently changed the ignition coil and coil pack on my 2005 Grand Prix 3.8 L Engine. Recently I've been having an issue with starting it up and driving it thereafter. What it does is, it'll start up with no issue and drive perfectly fine and by the 3rd or 4th time I start it up after driving it, it'll start slow like it loses power for a second and then it starts up. After I drive it, it'll misfire and drive rough during that particular session. If I turn it off and start it up again after that it'll start up and drive fine. Do I have bad module? I did a multi meter check on the coil packs and they range out fine. I did a spark plug tester and they came out fine. This has only been happening after I changed out the ICM. Oh and I'm also getting a P0420 code.
