Transmission whine

Asked by WoodyBr Sep 29, 2018 at 01:29 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: General

I've got a whine in the granny that has gotten
worse in the last week. I checked the tranny fluid
and that's where it needs to be and it doesn't smell
as if it's being burnt in any way.

Take it directly to a transmission shop for an evaluation. The sooner you identify and correct the problem the better your changes are of preventing a complete failure that will leave you stranded and in need of a new car.
