Car stutters up hills and the engine cuts off when stopped

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The code indicates that it is a MAF problem but I just bought a new MAF sensor

any problems with your EGR? these are switched off or on based partially on the instructions from the MAF, so take a look at it's function, if it's clobbered up with carbon deposits and has free travel...clean off the carbon with some brake cleaner, put it back together and assemble it back into place~

it might not be the sensor. sounds really dumb but i had this happen to me. there was a small hole in the part the maf connects to and it was sending all kinds of weird signals and i was doing the same thing just it was everywhere and not just up hills.
