Several problems with my 99 Grand Prix looking to fix myself.

Asked by Kris Sep 07, 2015 at 12:36 AM about the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Dr GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 Grand prix and am having several problems with it at this point
and I want to try to fix them myself if i can so i'm just looking for expert
advice. The first problem is something with the linkage. I can't put it in park
but all of the other gears work fine. I'm still driving it I just park it and put it
in neutral with the E-Brake down. It is working okay but I have heard that it
could lead to my other problem which is the headlights do not work. Only
the running lights and the brights if i hold the blinker back the stay on but if i
let go the go off. It is also very sluggish every day when i try to crank it.
Maybe the starter. I am not sure any suggestions or help would be much
appreciated.

i also would look at the steering column if any thing came apart inside it. gm has had problems with there columns getting loose on the inside which would take some stuff out of adjustment
