Have a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix Richard Petty Edition and the steering wheel smokes, engine sometimes cuts out when making a left hand turn.

Asked by Guru1VMW Apr 22, 2017 at 02:12 PM about the 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Dr SE Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have had the steering wheel (cruse/radio) checked three times and no one
can figure out why it's smoking, something electrical - bad wiring.  No one can
seem to fix it.  Got an idea? Heard there was a recall somwhere for cars
starting on fire, have you heard?

I had a petty edition new and had the cruise repaired twice. Bad part would overheat and give off smoke. It was a warranty issue when i had mine. Never heard of it being a fire issue, just heat up and burn wire insulation. I loved this car for 6 years i owned it.
