Mitsubishi eclipse spyder convertible gt cut off while driving etc

Break light and battery light came on and
then car cut off ...charged battery because
was dead... advance auto said it coded as
alternator  issue....it also keeps cutting i
Offf at lights but youtube video said a false
code that its the alternator can come up
