Mercury will not say nothing

I have a new alternater new starter battery was
dead but I tried to jump start it all lights came on
even heard the fuel pump come on still no crank or
turn over sound

Check and clean the battery terminals. Charge or replace the battery. Do the lights go dim when you turn the key? If so, corroded terminals. If not, starter relay, or starter?
