on the passenger side of my car i hear a rattling sound when i hit bumps it stops when i put on my brakes when crossing bumps

you need to take it apart and check it out. Sounds like it could be the brake pad since you say it stops when you hit the brake. Maybe the caliper, hard to say without seeing it. but if something is loose if should be obvious once taken apart and inspected.
