It's not necessarily pressure that's causing the CC to glow. There could be a problem with excessive unburnt fuel going into the CC. It might be a misfiring cylinder or an injector which is stuck open. etc. Is your check engine light on? Before drilling holes, do a OBD scan and do an exhaust back pressure test to determine if the CC is clogged.
