Column shifter noise

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I shift from park to drive and jiggle the shifter
while in drive I hear a clicking noise that appears to be coming from somewhere under lower dash or under hood at firewall. Is there a bracket in that area that needs tightening?

Could be a bad bushing under the hood where the rod goes from the column down to the transmission, or at the transmission linkage.
