97 town car limo needs rear end replacement

Asked by traceyslimo May 09, 2014 at 12:41 PM about the 1997 Lincoln Town Car Executive

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can't find a rear end w/limo pkg for under 1500. Do I have to have a limo pkg rear end or can I use a rear end from a 90-97 car and just change to 32 spline ?

I'm not aware of a Limo Package Rear-end although, I haven't dealt with many Limousines (gratefully). You wouldn't believe some of the hack-jobs. I'd change up to the 32 spline - for no other reason than the axles are easier to get. It's just an 8.8" Ford isn't it? Do you have the tag off of the diff? It would be interesting to see.
