Asked by country Jul 21, 2020 at 01:56 PM about the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mom has a 2004 jeep grand cherokee SE v 6.
She is having a overheating problem. The top
radiator hose will sweeI up at the thermostat
housing (pressure) so I changed the thermostat.
Thinking it was stuck closed. Didnt work. Took
thermostat out completely. Didnt work. I have
changed temperature control sensor located on
thermostat housing. Checked fan (runs). Checked
coolant level (full) no leaking from water pump.
Any advice what to do next would be great. Ty all

If the hose is swelling up you need to replace it. I would flush the system and use Water Wetter in the coolant which will reduce operating temps.
