Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and found out the hard way the driver
side mirror remained on as long as the battery was connected.  Bough and
installed a new mirror thinking it was a short in the original but when I plugged
in the new one it did the same thing.  It began to heat up with the defog button
off until I unplug it or disconnect the battery. Any ideas on my next step?

Thanks Jim. I will look for the relay/fuse first but would that allow only one mirror to malfunction like that? Very odd but i suppose anything is possible right? Thanks again. Bill
